Upcoming Changes to HCC Membership Tiers on July 1st

Did you know? The Harvard Club of Chicago has successfully held our annual membership rates steady for over 9 years. Keeping our community accessible has always been our top priority, which is why we intentionally chose to absorb nearly a decade of inflation to support our members, especially as we all navigated the challenges of the pandemic together.

To align with current financial trends and the club's long-term future goals, we will introduce updated membership tiers starting July 1st. We want to give our local alumni a window of opportunity to lock in our historic pricing before this transition. Join or renew your membership today at our current rate of $45/year and SAVE!

Starting July 1st, membership options will include:

• Regular Membership – $60/year

• Benefactor Membership – $150/year, including optional recognition on the HCC website

• Sustaining Membership – $250 for 5 years at a discounted annual rate

• Sustaining Benefactor Membership – $1,250 for 5 years, including optional website recognition

Complimentary memberships will remain available for current students, parents of current students, recent graduates (Classes of ’25–’26), and widows/widowers of alumni/ae.

Your Impact in the Chicago Community
Remaining an active member gives you priority access and exclusive discounts on our 30+ events each year. This includes exciting upcoming programs currently in the works with the Obama Center and Governor JB Pritzker.

Active membership also grants you full access to the HCC Clubhouse, our private, ad-free, members-only virtual community.

Most importantly, your dues directly fund our local volunteer programming. They also allow us to continue offering the complimentary tiers that keep our newest students, parents, and recent grads deeply connected to the Harvard family.

The HCC Schools Committee needs Harvard College alumni to interview Illinois and Northern Indiana applicants for the 2026-27 interviewing season. JOBS & INTERNSHIPS FOR HARVARD UNDERGRADS

Our HCC program connecting Harvard undergrads with jobs and internships continues to grow and we hope to get more companies involved! Jobs and internships can be part-time, full-time, summer or year-round. We facilitate connections between undergrads seeking work and organizations, including non-profits, looking for help and/or looking to provide experience to Harvard undergrads and recent grads.

We invite organizations to fill out our Internship/Job Form. The information will be used by HCC in posting internship/job opportunities. Please contact Phil Acevedo with questions.

EARLY COLLEGE AWARENESS MAKING A PROFOUND IMPACT AND SEEKING ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS

The Early College Awareness Program engages middle and high school students who may not think college is an option or who might be the first in their family to consider attending college. We are growing quickly with new initiatives, program formats, event locations, and collaboration with additional Harvard Clubs outside of Chicago, and we need your help!

We are looking for additional members to support our goal of highlighting ways college can become a reality for EVERY student in Chicago. This is a truly rewarding experience with lasting impact in our community. 

EDUCATIONAL INSTRUCTORS FOR LOCAL DETAINEES

In 2020, HCC began working with the Cook County Department of Corrections’ (CCDOC) Alternative Programs & Education Department on developing and delivering educational programs for qualifying detainees. Since then, the program has expanded substantially with an increase in volunteers and course offerings. To learn more, please visit our website.

We are seeking volunteers on our instructional teams for our GED Test Prep, Conscious Leadership and Re-Entering the Workforce courses sessions for which will be resumed in the coming weeks. In December of 2023 CBS News featured our program's impact and value: Cook County Jail inmates learn financial literacy from Harvard grads - CBS Chicago (cbsnews.com).
