Harvard Club of Chicago & Ivy+ 2026 Virtual Blood Drive - October 1 thru December 31, 2026
This fall, the Harvard Club of Chicago is rolling up our sleeves for a cause that truly matters—and adding a little friendly competition! From October 1 through December 31, we’re competing with other Chicago-area alumni clubs to see who can rally the most blood donors. The need is urgent: someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds, yet fewer than 5% of eligible people donate. Because red blood cells last just 42 days and platelets only 5, hospitals need a constant flow of donations for trauma victims, surgeries, cancer treatments, severe burns, and other critical care. Donating blood is one of the most powerful ways to give back: a single whole blood donation can save up to three lives.
And the process is easy: click here to pledge, then follow the American Red Cross instructions to choose a donation location, date, and time that’s convenient for you. In early January, we’ll tally the results and see which Chicago alumni club brought out the most donors. But no matter who tops the list, everybody wins.
When you pledge, please consider donating at the Red Cross R. Scott Falk Donation Center, located at 2200 W. Harrison Street in Chicago.
A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, Scott was a distinguished Chicago business and community leader. In addition to his career as a leading mergers and acquisitions lawyer at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Scott led both the Chicago Humanities Festival and the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago until his passing in 2018. Scott also was devoted member of the Harvard Club of Chicago and a generous mentor to countless Harvard students.
Roll up your sleeve. Save a life. #GiveCrimson
